True confession: I shot not less than 45 versions of that video. I kept stopping in the middle because I would stutter or say something the wrong way or any number of things that I didn't like. At one point, I gave up on the video post and started a written post. I'm a much better writer than I am a speaker and I thought it might work better that way. But when I sat down to write it, I felt blocked. I realized that I really wanted to talk to you not just write to you. I believed that I could get my message out better if I just let you see my face and told you my plan.
The version I posted I didn't even look at before I posted it. I knew I had said what I needed to say and that you wouldn't suddenly hate me because I stuttered or my hair was windblown or you hear Castle barking in the background. That's why I want to share my journey this year with you. I want to be real with you as I try to accomplish what I've set out for.
